As a team member of the On Legal team, you take ownership in a broad range of day-to-day topics in the areas of trademarks, designs, patents, etc.
For this new and exciting role, we are looking for a passionate, business-oriented, pragmatic, and proactive IP professional who has a demonstrated ability to independently manage diverse and complex responsibilities, while maintaining priorities and proactively anticipating topics.
Your Mission
As a team member of the On Legal team, you take ownership in a broad range of day-to-day topics in the areas of trademarks, designs, patents, etc.

Your Mission
- Legal Expertise and Advice: Utilize your strong background in intellectual property law, with a particular focus in trademarks, unfair competition law and copyrights, as well as design and patent litigation. Experience in handling IP-related legal matters, such as prosecution, enforcement, and litigation, is crucial. Provide general legal advice to internal stakeholders, such as to the Marketing Team, regarding the use and creation of IP
- Leadership: Lead and guide a growing team of IP professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and inspiration. Your strong leadership skills will be instrumental in overseeing our company's IP strategy and operations
- Strategic Thinking: Develop and implement comprehensive and innovative IP protection strategies by analyzing the competitive landscape, identifying potential risks, and proactively mitigating them through strategic planning
- Communication and Negotiation: Effectively communicate complex IP concepts to various stakeholders within the organization. Your excellent communication skills will be vital in handling IP-related agreements, licensing deals, and resolving disputes through strong negotiation
- Collaboration and Relationship Building: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, marketing, legal, and executive teams. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, such as law firms, IP offices, and industry associations, to ensure effective IP portfolio management
- Brand Protection: Development, implementation and oversight of brand protection measures
- Global Perspective: Demonstrate experience in managing international IP portfolios and working with diverse legal systems and jurisdictions
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest developments, industry trends, and best practices in IP management. Your commitment to ongoing learning and professional development in the ever-evolving field of intellectual property is crucial
- 10+ years experience as IP attorney/ specialist in a cross-cultural, cross-functional global/regional environment ideally gained within the sports or consumer goods industry and/or in a law firm
- Strong background in intellectual property law, including expertise in trademarks, designs, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and mentor a team
- Strategic mindset and the ability to develop and implement comprehensive IP protection strategies
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex legal and business challenges
- Collaborative nature and the ability to build relationships with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Innovative mindset with a passion for identifying and protecting innovative ideas and technologies
- Experience in managing international IP portfolios and navigating diverse legal systems
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest developments in IP management
