GUESS
Responsible for developing patterns across the Guess Apparel lines (Marciano, Guess Jeans, Factory Outlet, Fast Track), the Model Maker transforms designers' sketches into precise and creative patterns, acting as a vital link between design and production. They work closely with designers on first patterns, make necessary adjustments to patterns, garments, or prototypes, and manage the archiving and updating of existing patterns or the creation of new ones. The role involves active participation in fitting sessions, timely documentation of pattern and fit changes, and strict adherence to deadlines. Additionally, the Model Maker is responsible for measuring Proto samples, SMS samples, PP samples, and Top Samples, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout the development process.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Work directly with designers from 1st pattern concept through all steps till production; Attend fitting sessions and make accurate notes relating to pattern alterations; Alter patterns in accordance with fitting details prior to grading deadlines; Create dedicated MSMTS charts; Create dedicated GRADING charts; Liaise with factories and technical design staff, as required; Solve problems that may arise with patterns when used by factories or in house sample machinists.At least 4/5 years of previous experience in pattern making, technical design and related field (Apparel Fashion); Proficient with computer CAD drafting software (Gerber knowledge is a plus); Good knowledge of Windows Office and of the main pattern design systems (Adobe, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, 3D CLO); Knowledge of and experience using conventional and unconventional fabrics and materials; Experience with complex patterns integrating multiple fabrics and trims; Fitting skills and good knowledge of construction methods; Excellent time management and attention to detail; Working on cross-functional and multi-national teams; Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Fluent in Italian and English.An International, fresh and dynamic working environment Physical & Mental Health programs, sustainable projects and workshop promoted by Guess Cares Arts, sports and social events outside the office, thanks to our Guess Fun activities!
